Laurent Philippe, born on November 10, 1953 in Paris/France, studied Civil Engineering and Economics in Paris, and holds a Master of Science degree from Stanford University/USA.
He joined Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 1977 at its European Technical Center in Brussels, Belgium.
He first worked on major engineering projects for product manufacturing before moving into Brand Marketing in Germany.
Laurent has extensive leadership experience in Emerging Markets, having lived and worked in Morocco, Russia and China for 15 years. He returned to Europe in 2005, first as Group President, P&G Europe, and then, since 2007, as Group President for P&G’s CEEMEA division.
CEEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa) is a critical growth region for P&G.
It comprises more than 100 countries, including large established P&G operations in Russia, Turkey and the Arabian Peninsula, as well as new engines of growth in countries such as Egypt, Pakistan and the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Laurent’s other responsibility is to lead the P&G efforts to distribute our brands in small, traditional stores globally, including Asia and Latin America. There are about 24 million of these “High Frequency” stores around the world. This gives him a global perspective on Emerging Markets.
