Svetlana Marinova, Associate Professor of International Business, Program Director MSc International Business Economics, Aalborg University, Denmark

Professor Marinova research focuses on the internationalization of emerging economies and firms, notably in the transition economies of Central and Eastern Europe, China and Russia. Her work focuses on the importance of context, institutional maturity, and firm and country-specific advantages and disadvantages in the internationalization of emerging market firms, and it shows the impact of these processes on the speed of economic development and growth in emerging economies. Professor Marinova’s work was published in European Journal of Marketing, International Marketing Review, Thunderbird International Business Review, Advances in International Management, Advances in International Marketing, Journal of Global Marketing, Journal of Euro-marketing, Journal of East-West Business, among others. She authored and edited, with various colleagues, several books, including International Business: European Edition, John Wiley & Sons 2009; Institutions and International Business, 2014; Successes and Challenges of Emerging Market Multinationals 2013; Emerging Economies and Firms in the Global Crisis and Impacts of Emerging Economies and Firms on International Business 2012; Internationalization of Emerging Economies and Firms and The Changing Nature of Doing Business in Transition Economies, 2011, all published by Palgrave Macmillan. She also guest co-edited special issues of European Journal of Marketing and of International Marketing Review.
