1. Development of teaching materials, courses and education programs in logistics and supply chain management

1.1. Development of educational standards in logistics and supply chain management area

  • Concentration “Logistics”, Bachelor of Management Program of direction 080200 – Management (2012)
  • Concentration “International Logistics and Supply Chain Management”, Master in International Business Program of direction 080500 – Management (2011)
  • Concept and curriculum for MBA corporate program for RZD managers under RZD corporate requirements (2012)
  • Concept and curriculum in Russian and English for Ph.D. in logistics and supply chain management program in speciality 08.00.05 “Economics & Management of National Economy” (Logistics specialization area), conforming to the international standards for Ph.D. (2012)

 

1.2. Development of customized executive educational programs for RZD managers

 

  • Executive education program “International logistics and supply chain management” for PSTU students as part of specialized training in additional the state educational standards conforming to the RZD corporate requirements (2010/2011)
  • Executive education program for RZD managers in the field of logistics and supply chain management (2010, 2011)
  • Corporate program of professional retraining for RZD in Management “International Logistics and Supply Chain Management” (2011, 2012)

 

1.3. Development of new educational programs for “Dual Degree in Management”

 

  • Development of curriculum for “Dual Degree in Management” in 080500 speciality together with EBS University for Business and Law (Wiesbaden, Germany). Under development.

 

1.4. Development of teaching materials in Logistics and Supply Chain Management :

 

  • 14 programs of teaching disciplines for SPbU educational programs
  • 8 teaching kits of teaching disciplines for SPbU educational programs
  • 10 cases of teaching disciplines “Logistics and Supply Chain Management” for SPbU educational programs
  • Internet-based “Encyclopedia on International Logistics and Supply Chain Management”. On-line review based on the MediaWiki platform.

 

2. Doing research in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The main goal is to obtain the proper results, suitable both for research and for practical use by corporate partners.

 

Possible research topics for 2012–2013:

 

  • Terms and technical solutions for the traffic on the Trans-Siberian Railway: extreme temperature, security, monitoring of transported goods
  • Assessing the potential demand for rail transportation from Western Europe to Russia and back
  • Development of competitive transport products for delivery “from door to door” cargo, equipped for carriage in containers, from Western Europe to Russia

 

Main CIL Projects

 

Research project “Contract Logistics and Outsourcing in Russia”.

 

The report presents the results of a study of outsourcing and contract logistics based a national survey of 780 manufacturers with operations in Russia. The purpose of the report is to provide information about outsourcing according to the following aspects:

  • Outsourcing levels, asset specificity, and opportunities
  • Barriers and drivers of outsourcing and contract logistics
  • Contracts and performance

 

3. Knowledge distribution in logistics and supply chain management area in Russian academic community

    • Publications and translations of articles in leading academic and professional journals
    • Holding research and teaching workshops
