Goals and objectives:

This course provides students with comprehensive view of the multi-faceted and multi-dimensional relationships between businesses and government in modern economic environment. The major goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge and clear understanding of the nature, forms and ways of business-government interaction and to develop their skills in nonmarket environment analysis and nonmarket strategy elaboration.

 

Course Content:

Topic 1. The world of business-government relations: introduction and overview. Market and nonmarket environments of business

Topic 2. The context of business-government relations: modern approaches to government and governance. Issues on government performance       

Topic 3. The context of business-government relations: legal, political and social environment

Topic 4. Governments and markets. Business regulation: purposes, directions and instruments

Topic 5. Business-government cooperation

Topic 6. Development and implementation of nonmarket strategy

Topic 7. Prospects and challenges of business-government relations under globalization processes and information society development

 

Teaching Methods:

Lectures, teamwork, cases, individual and group presentations, exercises, business cases modelling
