Visit of Professor of Economics Germà M. Bel (University of Barcelona, Spain)
On September 4-9, 2017, Germà M. Bel Queralt, Professor of Economics, University of Barcelona (Spain), Hermà M. Bel, has visited St. Petersburg University. Research interests of Professor Bel are positioned in the field of studying processes in the public sector: privatization, public procurement and public-private partnership (PPP), etc. During a scientific seminar held at GSOM SPbU on September 4, 2017, Professor Bel introduced the paper "Weakening political links through regulatory reform: based on data on water supply contracts in Spain". In this paper the impact of proximity in private sector companies was examined, and how executive bodies authorities act on the probability of their victory in tenders for the provision of water supply services to the population of Spain.

On September, 8 as part of “Doing business in Russia” course Alexey Ivashchenko, Sales director of the Northwest region, IBM Eastern Europe/Asia, delivered a lecture on the topic “IBM strategy in Russia”.
On September, 11 Susana Urakova, HR-director of Hilti, visited GSOM SPbU within International Summer University (ISU) program.
On September, 13 Timur Komarov, PepsiCo HR-manager of the Northwest region, held a lecture within ISU program.
On September, 15 ISU students visited BIOCAD factory. Students not only saw the production process of the leading innovative company in Russia, but also had an opportunity to communicate with the top-management of the company, discussing current strategic management topics and R&D in cancer control sphere.
On September, 15 as part of “Doing business in Russia” course Raul Lönnström, Managing Director of Valio Russia in St. Petersburg, made a presentation on the topic “Valio: Managing in Crisis”.
