The Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM) has begun cooperation with the Center of Competencies for the Development of the Urban Environment of the Leningrad Region. Students of the programs “Public Administration” and “Master in Urban Management and and Development” will do a summer internship at the Center, where they can apply their managerial competencies.
The Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM), together with VKontakte and MIPT, are launching a free educational course about computer science for school teachers. Students will learn the basics of machine learning, IT project management and pupils motivation. Teachers who complete the course will receive a certificate of professional development.
On May 16, 2020, the Investment banking: Spring’20 Update online conference was held at the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg University (GSOM), at which GSOM alumni working in the field of investment banking discussed the changes caused by the pandemic in banks of Russia and Europe.
Graduate School of Management, St. Petersburg University (GSOM) launches the GSOMConnect project. This is a telegram bot designed specifically for networking and regular one-on-one dating GSOM Family communities — alumni, students, lecturers and employees of GSOM. The project has been implemented as part of the digitalization of the extracurricular activities of the School and will help to build horizontal ties between community members.
On May 13, 2020 Daria Klishevich (GSOM SPbU 3rd year doctoral student) has presented the results of the research as part of her doctoral thesis on the topic: “Internationalization of state-owned enterprises from emerging markets: evidence from Russia”. Scientific advisor is Andrei Yu. Panibratov, Doctor of Science (Economics), Professor, Department of Strategic and International Management.
On May 11, 2020 Snezhana Muravskaiia (GSOM SPbU 3rd year doctoral student) has presented the results of the research within the framework of her doctoral thesis on the topic: “Influence of gamification in marketing on consumer behavior”. Scientific advisor: Candidate of Science (Economics), Associate Professor, Head of Department, Marketing Department, Maria M. Smirnova.

Sergey I. Kiryukov, Associate Professor of GSOM Marketing Department co-authored the course Art of Sales on the Coursera platform.
Professors and alumni of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM) have created for the VK Cup VKontakte project a course of eight lectures on the basics of doing business in IT companies. The project manager was Margarita Gladkova, Academic Director of the Business Analytics and Big Data Master's program.
In addition to transferring all students' classes to an online format, the GSOM team has developed a plan to adapt extracurricular activities to the digital environment. The plan of online events is aimed at supporting students in an unstable situation and returning access to the various opportunities of the School — networking, teamwork and communication with employers. Activities are carried out in four main areas: career support, personal development, mentoring and networking, sports and leisure.
