British magazine The Economist released its Masters in Management 2019 Ranking. GSOM SPbU program Master in Management is ranked 38th. This is the only Russian program in the ranking of The Economist.
Commenting on the results, GSOM SPbU Director Olga Dergunova said: “GSOM SPbU has once again confirmed its status of the internationally recognized leader in the field of education. Being the only Russian school in The Economist ranking is very honorable for us. This is a merit and joint victory of GSOM SPbU team — professors, students and partners. The school team is proud of its level of research and teaching of business disciplines, corporate social responsibility and strategic marketing. We will continue to make every effort so that GSOM SPbU graduates have the necessary base and resources for a successful career and integration into the business community — Russian and foreign”.
The ranking is based on four main criteria: open career opportunities (according to this indicator MiM is on the 29th place), personal development/education experience (24), salary (40) and potential to network (38).
Head of School Konstantin Krotov said that business education rankings serve as a reliable reference when choosing a program. According to him, the leaders provide qualitative education, but not everyone of them is aware of the constant need for changes to maintain this leadership in the future: “In global business education a stable short-list of leaders has formed. And some of them understand that it is time to change. How to move to the life-long learning, how to create new knowledge and how to teach students to learn and relearn? GSOM SPbU is now on the verge of transformation, which will help to answer these and other questions,” — said Konstantin Krotov.
Data were collected using two surveys. The first was completed by schools, covering quantitative matters such as the salary of graduates, the number of registered alumni, the diversity of recruiters and so on. A second survey was sent to current students and recent alumni, asking them to rate various aspects of their business schools. Then all data received from the schools was verified.
On the first place in the ranking is HEC Paris program MSc Strategic Management, on the second place is Master of Arts in Strategy and International Management by University of St. Gallen, and on the third is Master of Science in International Business by SKEMA business school. All these schools are the GSOM SPbU academic partners.
GSOM SPbU Masters in Management program for the second year in a row is on the 23rd place in the world ranking by Financial Times and on the 20th in Europe.
