This summer, seven bachelor students from GSOM SPbU completed an internship at the Cherepovets City Hall. Mentors from the Business School and specialists from the Cherepovets Urban Development Agency helped them develop projects for transforming the urban environment and look for the ways to solve problems.

Students of the bachelor's programs "Management" and "Public and Municipal Administration" came up with a script for video clips, a city brand concept and a business plan for one of the abandoned city buildings (they assessed the territory from the point of view of development prospects, collected information on improvement options and presented solution). According to the practice participants working on the Cherepovets brand is about creating not just a picture icon, but an image of the city as a whole, an idea that will attract citizens and tourists, as well as new potential residents.

“Our goal is to show from  point of a young person’s view that Cherepovets is a city where everyone can find their own business, their partner, their own path, and can realize themselves in different fields,” said Violetta Dinkova, a student of the “State and Municipal Administration” program of GSOM SPbU.

Although there were many tasks in practice, there was still time to relax. Dmitry Krylov, a 2nd year student at GSOM SPbU (“State and Municipal Administration”), says that he managed to get acquainted with the city’s historical places, museums and culture, and he liked the Vereshchagin Museum most of all.

The industrial internship at the City Hall of Cherepovets became a logical continuation of the cooperation between GSOM SPbU and the city administration as part of an experimental program to improve the quality of management of city projects for representatives of Cherepovets city government.
