The Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) regularly holds events for students and alumni of MBA and Executive MBA (EMBA) programs. In early December, the Business School hosted a guest lecture by Fedor Sannikov, a leading investment advisor for VTB private clients, talking about "Inflation and the Current Economic Situation for Capital Management Purposes".
It was about the situation in the global economy after COVID-19, global inflation in 2020-2021, and the current positioning of the investor's portfolio.
The lecture was held in a hybrid format — alumni came to the downtown campus at the Volkhovskiy in person and connected online. The participants noted the importance of such meetings, especially in the classrooms where they had been studying for two years — this is an occasion to meet with classmates again, and plunge into the atmosphere of study and development.
"Thank you for organizing meetings for alumni. They allow us to get the most up-to-date information, to hear professionals trusted by GSOM SPbU! Thanks to the meetings, you can be aware of the main trends and take a fresh look at your business. And it's also a great opportunity to communicate with friends and teachers. Every meeting is a celebration for me! Charismatic lecturers, interesting interlocutors. And all this in beautiful interiors. It's a pity that the training is left behind."
Maria Gayvoronskaya, EMBA 2013, legal business protection, private practice.
"It is always a pleasure to return to GSOM SPbU, where years of study have passed — to gain new knowledge and see classmates. Six years have passed since we graduated from the EMBA program, but GSOM SPbU remains a source of expertise in the most pressing issues and a place for lively, inspiring discussions. I am glad to be involved in the Business School and its projects!".
Sergey Solovyov, EMBA 2015 alumnus, Head of Department, Krylov State Scientific Center.
Along with guest lectures, the Business School conducts master classes "Territory of Growth", meetings of the practitioners club, and annual reunions of MBA and EMBA graduates. Such projects allow graduates of the programs to plunge into the atmosphere of knowledge again, communicate with colleagues and get a new charge of energy for business development.
