On June 22, 2022, the exposition “Peter the Great introduced science to us…” opens at the Mikhailovskaya Dacha university campus. The exhibition continues a series of events at St. Petersburg University dedicated to the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great.
The presented materials reflect the beginning of the formation of science and scientific education in Russia. The organizers tried not only to show the importance of the project of the sovereign-reformer, but also to talk about the difficulties of its implementation, the difficult process of transition from a utilitarian university model to an enlightened university.
The exhibition is organized by the Assembly of Peterhof Museums of Russia and takes place at several venues, including the Peterhof State Museum Reserve, the Russian National Library, the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
The exhibition will run until September 6 at the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus, where students of the Graduate School of Management of St Petersburg University live and study.
