The research seminar is dedicated to discussing the preliminary results of the project "HRM practices as the basis for the sustainable development of the company after the COVID-2019 pandemic" (id pure ID: 77097671)
One of the current trends of recent years is the orientation of companies to sustainable development, as well as the active introduction of ESG principles into the daily life of companies. Sustainable development is a multifaceted and constantly evolving concept, which was originally understood as development that meets the needs of the present time, without questioning the ability of future generations to meet their needs (Elkington, 1997), and ESG transformation implies the sustainable development of commercial activities, based on the principles of responsible attitude to the environment ( E - environment);high quality of social responsibility (S-social) and corporate governance (G —governance). The focus of companies on sustainable development implies a significant change in functions in the field of human resource management (HRM). However, the reaction of companies (in particular, in Russia) to the crisis phenomena caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has shown, in that the transformation of HRM due to the goals of sustainable development is at the very initial stage. Also, at the moment, the literature contains little data on the practices of sustainable HRM used by companies and the barriers that arise in their implementation (in particular, during the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic).
