Since the second half of the 2010s, the so-called “ESG agenda” has been viewed as a general system describing the interaction of business, society and nature, and the “ESG concept” claims to be an umbrella concept within the corresponding problem field. However, the “ESG concept” has its own specific content, which is undergoing a certain transformation. On the one hand, the transformation of the “ESG concept,” which historically describes a new quality of investor expectations, essentially reproduces at a new level the logic of the transformation of the concepts of stakeholders and corporate social responsibility. On the other hand, despite its transformation and association with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the “ESG concept” remains a concept based on the primacy of creating shareholder value in the business goal-setting system.
