Joan Freixanet, PhD, Assistant Professor in International Business, International Marketing and New Product Development in the Graduate School of Management, St. Petersburg University.
Joan Freixanet has graduated with BBA and MBA in Business Administration from ESADE (Escuela Superior Administración y Dirección de Empresas, Universitat Ramon Llull). He is the top scorer (sobresaliente cum laude) while pursing Ph.D in Business Administration (Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya) and is working as Assistant Professor in International Business, International Marketing and New Product Development in the Graduate School of Management, St. Petersburg University.
Dr. Freixanet has been a consultant for 15 years in International Business, which he has combined with teaching in different prestigious universities such as ESADE, Universitat Pompeu Fabra or Moscow State University, among others.
He has published various books and case studies on the topics of international business, especially revolving around the topic of foreign market expansion and the development of international alliances.
His research focuses on different complementary topics, mainly: export promotion programs and organizations, and their impact in firms’ internationalization; innovation and its impact on business performance; organizational learning and its relationship with innovation and internationalization. He has published different papers on these topics, and serves as a reviewer for various high impact journals such as International Business Review, Journal of International Marketing or International Marketing Review.
