Snejina Michailova, Professor of International Business at the University of Auckland Business School, New Zealand


Snejina Michailova earned her PhD degree from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark in Organization Studies in 1997 and she established her academic career there. Since 2015 she has been Professor of International Business at The University of Auckland Business School, New Zealand. Snejina was Visiting Professor and Distinguished Visiting Professor at Aalto University School of Business, Finland in 2010 and 2013-2014 respectively. She has published extensively in the areas of General Management, International Management and Knowledge Management. Her work has appeared in Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, Management International Review, International Business Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Advances in International Management, Journal of International Management, critical perspectives on international business, California Management Review, Long Range Planning, Management Learning, Journal of Knowledge Management, Organizational Dynamics, Technovation, Employee Relations, European Management Journal, Business Strategy Review, and other journals. Snejina has co-edited books on cross-cultural management (Routledge), knowledge governance (Oxford University Press), Women in international management (Edward Elgar), HRM in Central and Eastern Europe (Routledge) and research methodologies in non-Western contexts (Palgrave Macmillan). She served as Editor Europe for Journal of World Business from 2001 to 2007 and has been on the editorial board of Journal of International Business Studies for a number of years. She is currently Associate Editor of critical perspectives on international business and serves on the editorial boards of several academic journals, including Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, Global Strategy Journal and Organizational Dynamics. Professor Michailova has won numerous research awards as well as best paper and best reviewer awards.
