Candidate exams

 
  • Candidate exams are an integral part of GSOM Doctoral program curriculum (starting from 2017 year of enrolment). Candidate exams are required for the thesis defense procedure at SPbSU. 
  • Candidate exams in GSOM are held in English
  • Candidate exams periods are: Fall (October – November) and Spring (April). Exact dates of exams are established every year in March and September.

According to GSOM Doctoral program curriculum, candidate exams must be passed in the following periods:

1st year, Spring – candidate exams on History and Philosophy of Science and English

- 2nd year, Fall – candidate exam on specialty (Economics and Management)

  • In order to pass candidate exams, Doctoral students must submit application for every exam to the Doctoral Program office (by email or in person) 2 weeks before the exam.

  • Candidate exam on History and Philosophy of Science 

- in order to pass the exam student must write and submit essay. Themes and requirements are established by instructor of the course “Contemporary Theory of Organization and Management”. Essay must be approved by scientific advisor and a reviewer (instructor of the course “Contemporary Theory of Organization and Management”). Front page should be as a sample. Please contact to the Doctoral Program office if you need help with the front page.
