 GSOM Scholarship rules
 
  • GSOM scholarship program is established in order to attract the best Doctoral students from all over the world; to negate economic barriers for obtaining management education of international standard and to prepare future world-class elite of scholars and researchers in management.
  • GSOM scholarship is up to 30 000 RUB per month (starting from 2018 – 45 000 RUB for students with publications in A or B level journals from ABS list – Association of Business Schools)
  • All doctoral students regardless the citizenship (Russian and foreign) and basis of studies (state-sponsored and fee-paying basis places) are eligible for GSOM scholarship
   
 Monthly report
 
  • Scholarship is paid monthly according to the monthly report, drawn up by every Doctoral student (sample is provided by Doctoral Program Office)
  • Report covers student’s academic and research activity during the month: attendance of classes, participation in seminars and conferences, preparation, submitting and publishing of articles, dissertation development
  • Monthly report must be approved by scientific advisor (approval via email is accepted)
  • Once approved by scientific advisor, the report must be sent to the Doctoral program office
  • Report must be sent by 20th of every month. If 20th is holiday or weekend day, the report must be sent by a day prior to the 20th.
  • If the report isn’t sent or is sent with a delay, student doesn’t get the scholarship for the month.
   
 Requirements & deadlines for academic and research work
 
  • Attendance. 1st year student must attend at least 75% of classes per month. If you miss classes due to the legitimate excuse (sickness, administrative procedures etc), you must inform Doctoral program office and provide supporting documents (before the 20th of the month) 
  • Academic performance. You need to pass all tests and exams during the academic year. If you have failed tests before the 20th of the month, you lose scholarship for this month. 
  • Participation in Research projects together with academic advisor and GSOM professors and researchers
  • Participation in GSOM research seminars and workshops (at least 80%)
  • Participation in at least two leading Russian and international conferences during studies at GSOM
 
1st year:

- by November 10: to present Research proposal of prospective research to scientific advisor and Department
- by May 30: to publish working paper based on conducted research during the 1st year of studies. Working paper can be interchanged by published (or submitted and accepted) article in international journal from ABS list*
- by May 30: to submit and present the extended Research proposal and empirical study plan during the attestation commission
- by May 30: to submit results of candidate exams on History and Philosophy of Science and on English language

2nd year:

- by September 15: to submit first article to the reviewed Russian scientific journal (A and B categories from the list of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) journals recommended by the GSOM)**
- by December 31: to submit results of candidate exam on specialty (Economics and Management)
- by February 15: to submit first article to the international reviewed scientific journal (from ABS list)*
- by March 1: to submit first chapter of dissertation to the scientific advisor
- by April 15: to submit second article to the reviewed Russian scientific journal (A and B categories from the list of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) journals recommended by the GSOM)**
- by May 30: to present first chapter of dissertation to the attestation commission
- by May 30: to publish working paper based on conducted research during the 1st year of studies. Working paper can be interchanged by published (or submitted and accepted) article in international journal from ABS list*
- by August 30: to submit second article to the international reviewed scientific journal (from ABS list)*
- by August 30: to have at least 1 published or accepted article in Russian scientific journal (A and B categories from the list of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) journals recommended by GSOM)**

3rd year:

- by September 15: to submit third article to the reviewed Russian scientific journal (A and B categories from the list of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) journals recommended by the GSOM)**
- by March 1: to submit full text of dissertation to the scientific advisor
- by May 15: to submit third article to the international reviewed scientific journal (from ABS list)*
- by May 15: to have at least 2 published or accepted articles in Russian scientific journal (A and B categories from the list of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) journals recommended by GSOM)**
- by May 15: to have at least 1 published or accepted article in international reviewed scientific journal (from ABS list)*
- by May 15: to publish working paper based on conducted research during the 1st year of studies. Working paper can be interchanged by published (or submitted and accepted) article in international journal from ABS list*
- at the end of the academic year: to finish dissertation and to have at least 2 published or accepted articles in Russian scientific journal (A and B categories from the list of Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) journals recommended by GSOM)** and at least 1 published article in international reviewed scientific journal (from ABS list)*

   
 Student loses scholarship in the following cases:
 
  • student fails to submit monthly report in a timely manner (by 20 of the month)
  • student fails to meet requirements and deadlines of academic and research work
  • student takes an academic leave / maternity leave
