Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), SJTU

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), a top university in China with a time-honored history, is among the first Chinese institutions to offer business education. After a century of changes and reforms, ACEM as a top-ranked school in China, is striving to become a top business school in Asia, with the intention of eventually achieving worldwide renown. 

 

General Information

Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), SJTU dates back to 1903, when Mr. SHENG Xuan Huai, then the Minister of Transportation of the Qing Dynasty, proposed launching the Business School of Nanyang Public University and aims to develop the highest-level managerial talent, with thoroughly international perspectives and capacities, and the ability to compete in the global economy. ACEM is the first and only China-based business school to be triply accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB.

 

Facilities 

The campus occupies approximately 33,000 square meters. The Shanghai government granted  the campus the designation "Garden-like Unit of Shanghai" in 2005, in recognition of the architectural and horticultural achievements at the campus. The college facilities and environment has been greatly improved due to the increasing investment these years.

 

International Accreditations:  

April 2008:ACEM obtained AMBA accreditation from the Association of MBAs. 

June2008: Following AMBA accreditation, ACEM obtained another international accreditation – EQUIS from EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). 

2011: ACEM obtained AACSB accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. ACEM has then become the first triple-accredited business school in mainland China. Only 53 out of 400 business schools across the world are triple-accredited.  

 

Staff

Currently, ACEM has 174 faculty members, among whom 59 are professors, 75 are associate professors, and 87% have obtained doctoral degrees. Moreover, the college has around 1200 undergraduates, 500 master students, 300 doctor students and about 2500 professional degree students including MBA and EMBA.
