Acts of Vandalism at Mikhailovskaya Dacha Campus
Unfortunately, acts of vandalism have been increasing at the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus lately. The latest incident was the breaking of doors in one of the campus classrooms.
One of the norms and values of the St. Petersburg University student code is the importance of "honoring teachers, respecting colleagues and students, maintaining friendly relations both within and outside the University, promoting an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation." Careful treatment of property, the space of the Business School, and the place where students' main classes and events take place is one way to demonstrate respect for each other, the University, and to create a trusting atmosphere.
Dear colleagues, if you see an opportunity to talk with students, colleagues, and guests about such important issues as ethical behavior and careful treatment of the surrounding space, please take advantage of it. The theory of broken windows can be recalled, which suggests that society's tolerance for minor offenses, such as littering in unauthorized places, vandalism, and so on, directly provokes more serious crimes in the future.
Let us all take care of our university and maintain a respectful and responsible attitude towards each other and the university property.
