The Research and Education Center "Digital Technologies in Education" of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (REC GSOM SPbU) has launched a pilot immersive course "The Art of Selling" for employees of the VTB Bank retail network.
The course, which was attended by financial consultants with no more than three months of experience in the bank, takes place from November 24 to December 24, 2021 in the offices of Moscow and the Moscow Region.
The course is implemented in an asynchronous format using an interactive simulator, interactive long reads and pre-recorded videos.
According to Sergey Lukashkin, Head of the GSOM SPbU REC, the educational process is based on immersive technology: students are immersed in a virtual interactive environment, where they practice the learned skills in simulated scenarios. The theory is presented in an easily accessible form using vivid characters that demonstrate the key principle of sales — focus on solving customer problems. Testing tasks use game mechanics: applying knowledge in memorable situations, the course listener is emotionally involved in what is happening.
The course was prepared with the support of the Office for the Development of New Educational Products and Technologies, the Retail Business Department and the Human Resources Department of VTB Bank.
According to Dmitry Kalinichev, Head of Retail Sales, the training of new employees in the first months of work will increase the number of successful transactions they make on the bank's main products and stimulate additional sales of cross-products.
