Professors from the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University took part in the conference “Global economic trends – challenges and opportunities”, which took place in Belgrade on September 21-22, 2023.
Director of the Center for Research on Market Efficiency and Applied Finance, Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting at GSOM SPbU Elena Rogova made a report “Market reaction to M&A announcements made by high-tech family-owned companies in China.”
Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting at GSOM SPbU Darko Vukovich presented the study “The Long-run Nexus Between Crypto, Financial, and Commodity Markets: A New Hidden Combined Cointegration Model (An Augmented Version of Bayer & Hanck’s Combined Cointegration.”
Academic director of the master's program "Corporate Finance" (MCF) at GSOM SPbU Alexander Andrianov presented the report "Determinants and drivers of the Russian corporate bond market growth" and took part in a program about trends in financial markets on Serbian television.
“If you compare the markets of the BRICS countries, such as India, Russia, China, they are still smaller in issuing corporate bonds compared to Western countries, but have great potential for very rapid growth. The economy, the gross domestic product in rubles is growing, but inflation, the denomination of the ruble against the dollar is what puts it at risk, and this is the main problem,” said Alexander Andrianov.
The scientific conference “Global economic trends – challenges and opportunities” is held annually at the Belgrade Banking Academy with the support of the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France) and the Institute of Economic Sciences of Serbia.
