On October 7, the GSOM SPbU hosted the grand opening of the mentor program Talent Up! This year a record number of mentors and mentees are participating: 48 allumni and 50 students of GSOM SPbU. They will have intense joint work ahead of them in the next six months.
At the opening ceremony, participants got to know the idea of mentoring and mentors, who are ready to share their knowledge and experience. Every year, the opening of a new season of Talent Up! takes place in a hybrid auditorium, which allows mentors from other countries of the world to connect to the event and personally greet their future mentee.
This season, students who have been selected for the program set their goal to build a career in areas such as project and/or product management, consulting, entrepreneurship, admission to a master's degree, marketing analytics, and business in the experience industry. Each of them is matched with a mentor from among successful zllumni who have already realized their professional potential in one of the given specializations.
Mentors Talent Up! work in companies such as Yandex, Sberbank, Gazprombank, Alfa Bank, VK, Mars, PepsiCo, McKinsey, Accenture. Geography of participants: Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Singapore, USA, Turkey, Argentina and Dubai.
Mentoring program Talent Up! habe existed at GSOM SPbU since 2013. It was created at the initiative of the Office of Alumni Relations and a group of students. As part of the program, mentees receive advice on career and personal development, find answers to professional questions, and expand their professional connections through communication with mentors. For mentors, participation in Talent Up! is an opportunity to realize a social mission, contribute to the development of aspiring professionals, communicate with interesting students in an informal setting, find valuable future employees and plunge once again into the atmosphere of your alma mater!
This season the organizers of Talent Up! they introduce monitoring of the involvement of participants at different stages of the program, measuring expectations and results of the six-month work of pairs of mentors and mentees to increase efficiency.
The partners of the event dedicated to the start of the new season of Talent Up! were the online store “Veselaya Zeya” and the network of cafes and confectioneries “Bushe”, which helped decorate the holiday with balloons and organize delicious treats for the participants of the 7th season.
