The dissertation defense of Marina O. Latukha on the topic “Talent Management in Russian Companies in International Environment: Research Methodology and Key Practices” nominated for Doctor of Economic Sciences degree on the specialty 08.00.05 – Economics and Management of National Economy (Management) will be held at GSOM SPbU on the session of Dissertation Council D 212.232.69 on May, 23rd, 2017.

Dissertation research was conducted under scientific supervision of Andrei Yu. Panibratov, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of Strategic and International Management Department, St. Petersburg State University. The opponents on the dissertation are Elena V. Mikhalkina, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Head of Human Resource Management Department, Southern Federal University, Tatiana O. Razumova, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Head of Economics of Labour and Personnel Department, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, and Elena S. Yakhontova, Doctor of Social Sciences, Professor of Corporate Governance Department, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Leading organization on the dissertation is National Research University “Higher School of Economics.

The main goal of the research is to develop a research methodology for talent management practices exploration. The realization of the goal requires fulfillment of the following objectives:

• to conduct an analysis of foundations and stages of development of talent management concept;
• to determine the role of talent management in the human resources management system in international companies;
• to clarify the conceptual approach of the talent management concept;
• to analyze factors which influence talented management activities in companies from developing countries, and, in particular, Russia;
• to identify the specificity of talent management practices in companies from developing countries on the basis of Russian companies;
• to identify key elements of talent management in Russian companies operating in the international environment;
• to reveal conceptual and methodological approaches to talented management system development;
• to develop a program and methods of empirical research on talent management practices in Russian companies operating in international environment;
• to develop a model of the impact of talent management practices on company's performance through its absorptive capacity.
