Research seminar “Managing tourism resorts through destination social responsibility and information adequacy lenses: Attribution theory perspective” will take place on March 16, 2023, 17:30 – 19:00 in English online. Online |
This study provides solutions for tourism resort managers to effectively manage their resorts, investigating the effects of Destination Social Responsibility (DSR) and Information Adequacy (IA) upon tourists' positive attribution toward destination management events. Through a quantitative analysis, the study examined the effects of DSR, IA, and different demographic variables across three tourist experience types, leisure, adventure, and cultural, considering attribution theory. The study is the first to investigate how managers can differentiate the two lenses (DSR and IA) through different traveler experience types and demographic variables and use them to have tourists' positive behavioral outcomes to their destinations. The thesis findings help managers to personalize their managerial effort regarding the experience types leisure, adventure, and cultural. As the tourists' engagement in different activities is linked to varying perceptions of Destination information adequacy and Destination social responsibility, managers can now better understand how to tailor their efforts best to meet the needs of each type of tourist and achieve profits. The thesis and its findings have appeared and been discussed in top international conferences (e.g., AIB) and international journals under ABS A and C, among other journal rankings.
