Altmetrics

There are also similar indicators (altmetrics) offered by other scientometric laboratories and databases as an alternative to impact factor and author's indicators due to their limitations (chronological framework, the requirement for the journal to be present in certain citation indexes, research topics, etc.). Types of alternative indicators:

• number of downloads in social networks,
• number of views
• number of comments
• number of citations, etc.

Alternative indicators are calculated on publicly available scientometric resources and databases, academic social networks: Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Mendeley, Zotero, Publish or Perish, Plum Analytics, and others.
