REQUEST ACCESS TO SPECIALIZED SOFTWARE

You can access software on-campus from one of the computer rooms or the library, get access to a virtual computer room, or obtain a license key for a GSOM computer or personal use.

REQUEST NEW SPECIALIZED SOFTWARE  

Specialized software for a course can only be ordered by the SPbU GSOM instructors or staff.

How to order:

1	The instructor specifies the required software in the study program
2	The Program Director submits a request to the SPbU GSOM IT team with a reference to the study program before the beginning of the semester The software can be installed on a computer in an on-campus or virtual computer room. The instructors/students might be allowed to install the software on their personal computers (subject to availability)
3	The IT Department provides access only to software with a valid license. If there is none, the IT Department negotiates the purchase of software with the GSOM first deputy director. The procedure takes 45 days.

SET UP MS TEAMS

SPbU GSOM uses Microsoft Teams for distance learning and online meetings. We also use MS Teams to work on projects and store files.

HOLD A HYBRID CLASS

The hybrid classrooms on the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus enable participation of both in-class and online students. Instructors are present on site.

Prior to holding hybrid classes, all instructors complete a mandatory two-day interactive training course on instructional design and ways to use a hybrid classroom.

If you want to teach in a hybrid classroom

1	Together with the Academic Director of your program file a request for holding hybrid classes when drawing up the academic timetable.
2	Email us your request at support@gsom.spbu.ru if you haven’t completed the training yet. It’s important!
3	To get support during your first hybrid class, email us its date at support@gsom.spbu.ru. We will set up the classroom for you and provide you with all necessary support.

If you are not familiar with the hybrid format and would like to learn more, our team will be happy to show you around a hybrid classroom.
To book a demonstration, email us at support@gsom.spbu.ru. In the Subject line type “Hybrid classroom demo” and indicate your preferred date for the demonstration.

 

If you are representing another university or a company and would like to share experience/create hybrid classrooms according to the GSOM methods, follow the link.
* As of November 1, 2021, there are three hybrid classrooms on the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus (1207, 2222 and 2229).

1	Email us your request at support@gsom.spbu.ru. In the Subject line type “IT support for the event” and specify the name of the event.
2	Pay a visit to the venue to get familiar with the classrooms, the TV system in the halls and classrooms,  and the basic equipment.

3	Create a technical rider together with a member of the GSOM IT team and specify the venue, i.e. the classrooms, the date, the list of required equipment in the classrooms, and whether an IT specialist or a volunteer will be needed.
4	Get your video clips and presentations ready in the required format determined during your visit to the venue. Make your materials available to us well in advance, specifying where and when they should be displayed on TV panels in the halls, classroom PCs or other devices.
