From March 16, and until a special order at GSOM SPbU, all face-to-face events were canceled, and training on the main educational programs was completely transferred to the online format. Starting with the first online lesson, all lectures and seminars will be scheduled.

 

“Together with the management of St. Petersburg University, we made a difficult but important decision: from March 16, GSOM cancels all face-to-face events and provides educational programs online. We consider it appropriate to minimize the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection and take these measures so as not to jeopardize the health of students, lecturers and professors, our employees, friends and relatives of the older generation,” — Olga Dergunova, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank, Director of GSOM SPbU, addressed students. 

 

To communicate and conduct online lectures, faculty and students will use the Microsoft Office 365 platform — Microsoft Teams. Students will exchange materials and take assignments through the BlackBoard system — it has been used at the School for several years.

 

Students are not recommended to visit GSOM SPbU campuses without urgent need. However, the buildings continue to work, the library is open as usual with reasonable security measures. School professors can work remotely or conduct online classes in their individual classrooms on the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus. Their workplaces will be supplemented with everything necessary for comfortable work.

The Student Council also helps in the process of adaptation to a new form of interaction. Six volunteers will undergo additional training and will support students in the process of transferring classes to the online format. 

 

To ensure the rapid transition to distance learning and to take other measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, a special working group has been organized at GSOM.
