On 9-11 of June the 24th INSEAD Alumni Business Cup Regatta took place in St. Petersburg. Created in 1992 by alumni from INSEAD, the Alumni Business Cup (ABC) – annual regatta is open, upon invitation, to the alumni of some of the best-known US and European business schools. ABCup visit a different location each year, in 2016 Regatta came to St. Petersburg

One of the yachts carried a flag of the GSOM Alumni association, thanks to Alexander Davydov (GSOM SPbU MBA program alumnus, 2007) and David Papaskiri (GSOM SPbU Bachelor and Master programs alumnus, 2000, 2002). |
Those two graduates were the members of the crew, called Babuljak, which took the second place in the competition.

What is in common between a professional manager and a yachtsman?
«I guess that the most important coomon factor is communication, and the ability to make quick decisions, which may affect the result of the whole team work. It is sometimes difficult to make those decisions for both highly professional top manager and any member of the yacht crew, especially when it contains strong leaders and highly skilled managers. The ability of co-decision in the short term and effective cooperation - this is what leads our team to victory». |
