Traditional summer meeting «Terracotta Sails» for GSOM SPbU alumni was conducted on the 7th of July, 2016.

 

According to the long-lived tradition this is the day of informal new members admission ceremony that is held though the symbolic terracotta ties tying. Most of the guests of the evening are graduates and students of Executive MBA program, who represent managers and owners of Russian companies in different industries.

 

This year the ceremony was held on the ship «Cityblues» and more than 90 guests including alumni of different years, current EMBA students, professors and GSOM representatives participate in the event.

 

During the evening alumni took part in the contest Alumni Battle, a team game  specially designed by organizers in cooperation with the faculty for this reunion. Six teams should have made advertising posters for a company – one of the leaders in Russian market and presented it in front of the audience. All teams demonstrated high level of expertise and used all kind of skills, knowledge and team-work synergy, received during GSOM study.

 

The most festive moment of the evening turned out to be ceremonial admission of new members. Representatives of anniversary 5 and 10-year MBA groups under the sounds of alumni anthem tied terra-cotta ties to just-accepted members. This part embodies admission to friendly family of GSOM alumni.

 

We are pleased that summer meeting "Terracotta sails» is so popular among graduates of different years. This good tradition enables alumni to feel connected to the school and also contributes to the development of a business network.
