18 November 2017
On November, 18 a new stage of the mentoring program Talent Up! for students of the Graduate School of Management SPbU has started. The goal of the program is to unite different generations of graduates and students of GSOM SPbU, contributing to their joint development, implementation of plans and achievement of goals.
GSOM Family community helps students to make a qualitative leap in personal and professional development: 25 students, who have been thoroughly selected, became mentees to receive experience and knowledge directly from alumni.
On the final day of the first large careers event Management Career Week, the most motivated and proactive students of bachelor and master programs have gathered together with their mentors at “Mikhailovskaya Dacha” campus. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce students to their mentors – before the meeting, the mentees did not know with whom they would work together to achieve their goals in the next five months. All mentors are GSOM SPbU alumni and have expertise in fields of innovation, marketing, management consulting, business development, CSR and finance. They work in the largest Russian and international companies: Yandex, Sberbank CIB, The Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey and Company, L'Oréal and others. |
The main things to learn for successful mentoring are goal setting and active listeningThe meeting was led by GSOM SPbU alumni, business coaches Olga But and Anton Luzhkovsky. They told the participants about the concept of mentoring and how the Talent Up! program will be organized. They shared two most useful mentoring tools: the skills of goal setting and active listening. A special guest of the event was the US journalist Sean Michael Thomas. Now the mentors and mentees have five months of teamwork ahead, and next year in April they will share the results of their interaction with each other and the project team.
And even more!
The events held by the Talent Up! team do not end there: soon open meetings of GSOM SPbU students with the graduates of the School will be announced. To receive up-to-date information, join the Vk group and check the program section on the site. |
