International Module Doing Business in Russia for the students and graduates of PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University

From May 21 to May 22 GSOM SPbU hosted international module Doing Business in Russia for students and graduates of PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University (Beijing, P.R. China). GSOM SPbU visited 37 students and graduates of the program who are now heads of financial, real estate, IT, biomedical, energy, cultural and consumer services companies.

The first day of the module was dedicated to the key features of doing business in Russia. Thus, Head of School Konstantin V. Krotov spoke about the opportunities and threats to enter the Russian market. Associate Professor of the Department of Strategic and International Management Vasily K. Dermanov acquainted listeners with the challenges posed by the Russian economy. Also on the first day participants visited the new high-tech pharmaceutical factory Solofarm where liquid medicines are produced. Guests had the opportunity to see how large Russian organization work and gain knowledge and experience.

 

The second day of the module was directed to the national cultural aspect and was held in the Faberge Museum. Olesya Turkina, Researcher of the Department of the Newest Trends of the Russian Museum, PhD of Arts and Associate Professor of the Department of Interdisciplinary Research and Practice in the Arts of at St. Petersburg State University, told foreign guests about the basic principles of the formation and development of the national and cultural specifics of Russia and the role of art in Russian society.

 

 

The international module Doing Business in Russia was developed by Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University and is regularly held for more than 7 years. In 2017, GSOM SPbU was visited by over 80 senior executives from Chinese companies - students of the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (Beijing, P. R. China) and the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (P. R. China).
