Commenting on the seminar, Professor Schulte said that blockchain is one of many digital Technologies that will impact and change the future of Business Processes. According to him, it is not the solution for everything, but it will facilitate smart, secure and efficient business processes across many industries. It will also be an important enabler for the realization of the IoT.
“The potentials of this Technology are discussed a lot. It is crucial now that we provide the proof of concepts. Use Case based implementations on corporate level, in a pilot environment will help us to do so. We only then will be able to define the requirements for necessary implementation. And only then we will be able to answer the always present and legitimate question about costs and benefits,” explained professor.
The purpose of the workshop was in bringing together experts from academia and industry communities, for investigating Blockchain technology and exploring its diverse applications. Speakers from education, research and business shared the concepts and experiences of applying Blockchain technology to various industry domains in healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and supply chain.
