On April 23, awarding ceremony for the winners of “Young millionairs” contest was held in St. Petersburg. The contest was organized by “Delovoy Peterburg” newspaper. The Head of School Konstantin V. Krotov was one of the jury members, and Olga R. Verkhovskaya, associate professor at the Department of Strategic and International Management, conducted a business game for the finalists of the competition.

During the business game participants were asked to solve cases and answer the questions about business history. Cases were about issues such as the improvement of living conditions of the elderly, the 2020 European Football Championship, snow removal and pre-school education, as well as about the future — the finalists had to develop business solutions for the Cosmotravel intergalactic travel company that organizes trips to the Gliese system planets in 2170.

Entrepreneurs from St. Petersburg whose monthly turnover exceeded 1 million rubles could take part in the competition. The on-site selection round of the project was held on April 2 in GSOM SPbU ceremonial hall. Newspaper editors, experts and businessmen selected the top ten among all the applications submitted. On April 23, the contestants had the opportunity to speak before the jury members, which determined the most promising St. Petersburg businessmen.
The first place this year took the founder of language school “Don’t Speak” Andrei Gulyaev. He is not only a business owner, but also teaches english.
