Vladislav Peskin, GSOM SPbU student and Danil Ferents, Math Department at St. Petersburg State University student, joined the Mail.ru Group Ambassadors team. In 2019-2020, they will represent Mail.ru at the University.

 

 

The main task of the ambassadors is to tell students about the IT industry, new technologies, the Mail.ru Group educational projects, its products, business areas and job prospects. Participants of the ambassador program will conduct educational events at universities: they will organize lectures, webinars, hackathons, participate in career days, etc. In total, the new team of ambassadors included 70 students, alumni and professors from 44 Russian universities. Over 3,000 applications have been submitted for the program. The selection included various tasks: shooting a video application, passing a test on knowledge of the facts about the company, drawing comics and searching for an employee encrypted under the nickname Pit Stop Man.

 

“I visited the presentation of the Mail.ru Group Ambassadors program, which was held at GSOM SPbU by Sergey Mardanov, Director of University Relations at Mail.Ru Group. He explained how to pass selection and spoke about the opportunities that this program provides. The selection consisted of shooting a video presentation, various tests for general erudition, cases, an intensive course of 20 lectures, the subject of which was aimed at the company's products. In the end, it was necessary to pass an exam and two video interviews. It seems that there are a lot of stages, but this, in fact, tests your motivation. I plan to make presentations in schools and universities and talk about the possibilities of the company's products, especially courses that help schoolchildren and students improve their skills in IT, management, design and other areas”.

The program enables students to develop communication and management skills, upgrade their digital and soft skills and challenge themselves as a representative of a large IT company while studying at the university. According to the results of the last year selection to the ambassador program, more than 10 people became company’s employees.
