Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM) and the Center for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources of St. Petersburg University have created a tutorial on the use of Microsoft Teams in the educational process.
The video instruction helps users figure out how to use the platform for the educational process — to conduct online classes, create classes for joint learning, maintain operational communication with students and provide file sharing.
St. Petersburg University has prepared a series of tutorials on various platforms to methodologically support other Russian universities in the need for an emergency transition to the online format. GSOM was an expert on working with Microsoft Teams.
“St. Petersburg University was the first university in Russia that decided to transfer all academic programs to an online format. The work of the Center for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources of St. Petersburg University makes the best practices of the university accessible to other universities. We want GSOM's successful experience of Microsoft Teams platform using will help other universities. In the current unstable situation, only by uniting we can pass this test as efficiently as possible. GSOM is open for cooperation and is ready to share technological and methodological expertise with educational institutions, ” Konstantin Krotov, Head of School, said.
The implementation of Microsoft Teams and other Office 365 applications was launched at GSOM in early 2019. During the year, these tools were actively used by lecturers and staff of the School. The experience gained allowed GSOM to quickly transfer the entire educational process to an online format. In two days, 1100 students were connected to Microsoft Teams. Starting March 16, 2020, all lecturers at the business school are conducted without gaps and failures in the schedule. Weekly, GSOM holds online lectures, seminars and group classes with a total duration of more than 300 academic hours.
