GSOM SPbU has for the first time been listed among the top 100 of the best global Executive MBA programs in the QS ranking
The Executive MBA program of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM) has for the first time been listed among the top 100 international ranking of the leading QS Executive MBA Rankings programs, having moved up 4 positions compared to last year.
On June 30, 2020, a new issue of the QS Executive MBA Rankings was published, according to which GSOM SPbU is in the 97th place in the world. Among European business schools, GSOM SPbU is listed as 39.
QS evaluates MBA education programs by the following criteria:
- Career Outcome - 20%;
- Diversity - 10%;
- Employer reputation - 30%;
- Executive Profile - 15%;
- Thought Leadership - 25%.
According to the Executive Profile indicators, GSOM SPbU is the 3rd in the world and the 2nd among European business schools. In Executive MBA groups, more than 80% of its students are top managers, their average managerial experience being 12 years. At the same time, 70% of alumni of the EMBA program at GSOM SPbU within 12 months after graduation improve their career status, which, according to QS, exceeds the same indicator in Europe, — where e average is 55.6%.
“GSOM SPbU educational programs help leaders at any stage of their career path to develop and achieve even more ambitious goals. High requirements for admission to the Executive MBA and the high-est international teaching standards provide students of GSOM SPbU conditions for obtaining a world-class business education. At the same time, the adaptation of fundamental and practical knowledge to the conditions of the Russian market, as well as favorable conditions for networking during the program, allow alumni of GSOM SPbU to quickly achieve significant results. The success of GSOM SPbU is the success of its alumni. We are proud of our joint achievements,” said Olga Dergunova, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank, Director of GSOM SPbU.
The success of the Graduate School of Management program in the Executive MBA ranking was facilitated by systematic work to improve educational content. Such work is based on the regular collection of feedback from both program participants and corporate partners — members of the GSOM Advisory Board, many of whom are customers of corporate education (for example, Ros-neft, which has been training its managers at GSOM SPbU since 2010). In addition, the MBA programs at GSOM have built a system that promotes the development of networking opportunities. “GSOM pays close attention to the composition of its groups. We try to create teams that contain representatives of different sectors, so that participants from the public and private sectors are in the same audience. Pre-selection allows us to select Executive level listeners. This is important for customers, as it provides opportunities for building contacts at the highest level and creating the best business education in Russia thanks to the professors of GSOM SPbU,” said Andrey Zyatchin, Academic Director of the EMBA programs at GSOM SPbU.
The British company Quacquarelli Symonds is the compiler of one of the most prestigious university rankings in the world. The ranking of the best Executive MBA QS programs, which includes 161 business schools, has been compiled since 2017.
In the QS ranking of master's programs in management and finance, GSOM SPbU also holds leading positions with its Corporate Finance and Management programs.
