«Studying when business models are changing, authorities are disintegrating, and regular instruments are not working is an opportunity to find new ways of meeting the conventional challenges. I am glad to welcome you to the Graduate School of Management of SPbU. Russian business really needs people who will change our companies and the world around us. The Executive MBA enables its participants to form for a new major goal for themselves and to move towards it. The task of GSOM SPbU is to facilitate them in achieving this goal. Exactly this idea is the basis of the mission of the business school: we create knowledge, develop leaders, and by doing so, change the world for the better. Together we will move in that direction and help each other», —said Olga Dergunova, Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board and Director of GSOM SPbU at the launch of the program.
The program contributes to the personal and professional development of executives and business owners, prepares for transformational leadership roles in the face of the global challenges of a dynamic external environment. As part of the training, participants are going not only to systematize knowledge and receive new experience in addressing business challenges, but also get to know the best management practices worldwide. The two modules of the program will be conducted at European schools — Strategic Marketing at a business school EADA (Spain) and Operations Management at University of Commerce Luigi Bocconi (Italy).
More than 100 applications have been submitted for participation in the program. Among the 24 participants who successfully passed initial testing, more than half are top managers of large and middle-sized businesses from companies in Saint Petersburg, Zurich, Moscow, Kazan, Simferopol, Petrozavodsk and Vorkuta. 70% of the participants have managerial experience for more than 10 years. A third of the group consists of women.
The Executive MBA Program will last two years and end in the fall of 2022 with a defense of the resulting group business projects. Participants who successfully have defended their projects will receive a diploma issued by St. Petersburg State University and moreover, a certificate in their name issued by the international association АМВA (Association of MBAs).
Until the beginning of the second module (14 October) those who wish can join a group that has already been formed.
