St.Petersburg State University (SPbU) in partnership with VTB bank, GenerationS (Russian Venture Company), Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" and International Information Group Interfax within the educational online intensive course «Archipelago 20.35» conducts a track «Artificial intelligence in the digital economy».
The program of the intensive course was explained by a Dean of the track Sergey Lukashin, Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of VTB Bank and a member of a project office on the strategy of GSOM SPbU.
Artificial Intelligence is one of the key technologies nowadays. Already we see many practical applications – from exact establishment of the diagnosis and face recognition for search for missing people to unmanned devices and analysis of financial flows for ascertaining the facts of misappropriation of funds. But do many understand this technology? Now in Russia there are very few teams ready to create and refine projects using artificial intelligence. This potential has not been yet disclosed and for the country overall. Moreover, it is a high demand occupation, where one can be a part of new technology and constantly improve.
I have worked with FinTech and innovations for many years: I launched chatbots in various banks, did projects on data analysis, Internet of things, virtual reality, digital transformation. And as a Dean of educational track of SPbU, I would be happy to share my experience with participants of Archipelago 20.35.
In order to learn to use Artificial Intelligence, our own should be used too. And to sell the idea to requisitioners and investors, we should be skilled in presentation of their product. Therefore, our program is designed both for programmers and managers, which pack the ideas and present it to investors. Intensive course substitutes a long-term programme, for which there is usually not enough time.
Teams that took part in the event will acquire not only knowledge, but international experience and connections from GenerationS — accelerator which works with largest Russian and foreign startup development companies. Two laboratories are led by VTB bank: management of electricity (optimizing the use of electricity) and bank scoring, where teams assess the risks of bank borrowers. During the series of workshops we clearly tell about which platforms are used in the bank for working with data and machine learning, why graphs are needed for financial analytics and how to do customer discovery, in order for your product to be in demand. Experts from Center for Entrepreneurship GSOM SPbU conducted a lecture for participants about market and target audience analysis, as result of which, teams got data on market size, obtained by the TAM-SAM-SOM approach, competitors description and the value proposition.
In the track, which will last until November 21, more than 30 teams will take part with projects at the idea stage, as well as with prototypes.
