The Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM SPbU) together with VTB Bank has launched a pilot customized training program for line managers of VTB's global retail business line — Management Essentials: Practical School of Management. 30 Directors of Operating and Subsidiary offices will be trained in the first launch of the program.

The program, which is maximally focused on real business practices, is aimed at reducing the adaptation period for new managers and creating a stable base for further development as a manager.

 

The pilot training course consists of seven modules, including both theoretical part and practice in the form of cases and interactive webinars. A flexible approach and 100% online format allow participants to comfortably combine training and workload. The duration of each module is a week, the entire program is two months.

 

The content of the modules was developed by the lecturers of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Management of GSOM SPbU Andrey Zamulin, Marina Latukha, Antonina Lisovskaya under the scientific guidance of Professor Elena Zavyalova. The logic of the course is based on the understanding of the main functions of managers that make up the Management Wheel. Lectures by lecturers and presentations by invited business experts are focused on six central questions: how to avoid typical mistakes of young managers, how to become a leader of your team, what is the general algorithm and approaches to managing different types of employees, taking into account the characteristics of their personality and behavior, the main issues of motivation, involvement and employee development, and sales performance management.

 

Successful top managers of VTB Bank will take part in the program and share their experience: Deputy President, Chairman of the Management Board Olga Dergunova, Head of the Retail Business Department, Senior Vice President Pavel Kudryavtsev, Head of the Premium Clients Department, Senior Vice President Dmitry Breitenbikher, Head of the Brokerage Department, Senior Vice President Vladimir Potapov, as well as heads of other major Russian and international companies: MTS, Tele2, Post Bank, The Boston Consulting Group.
