At the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSO SPbU) a new group has started their education in the professional further education program Healthcare Management, which is implemented as part of the President's program for training management personnel.
The 25 students of the program are Heads of public and private healthcare organizations and regional healthcare authorities of six russian regions.
Most of the students are Chief Doctors (of the St. Petersburg City Tuberculosis Dispensary, the Cherepovets City Maternity Hospital, the Nyuksen Central District Hospital, the Pokrovsky Stem Cell Bank, the American Medical Clinic, and so on), the rest are heads of structural units of medical and other organizations in the healthcare cluster.
The program is practice-oriented: students come with a project for the development of their organizations, work on it during the learning process and defend it for their final certification. The program is implemented by GSOM SPbU professors and the involved lecturers – who are Heads of the leading state and private medical organizations of St. Petersburg, and, as a rule, program alumni.
The Healthcare Management program is certified by the Global Educators Network for Health Innovation Education (GENiE), along with 17 university programs that are world leaders in the management training of healthcare leaders (Harvard, Duke, Oxford and others).
