The Coaching Center of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) conducted the course Search Inside Yourself: How to Create Your Own Career Plan for Master program students. The lecturers were delivered by Maria Daletskaya, Guest Lecturer at GSOM, and Maria Dorokhina, Director of the Coaching Center. The aim of the course is to help students find the right career path.
“Our course consists of two parts: in the first, we reflect on what kind of people the participants of the course want to become, what values are important to them. This is important, since many of us choose our professional path based on the material attributes of success, but this approach can become not successful. The second part of the course is devoted to practical actions, building a career development plan that will give you the opportunity to move towards success with interest and pleasure,” said Maria Dorokhina.
Group lessons and individual sessions with trainers and coaches were attended by 12 first and second year Master program students.
“Communication in a group with other students and coaches who share their values and worldview is a very valuable and rewarding experience. Now for me the topic of a career is the most important but also the most vague one. I am glad that I have taken the course: it helped me to prioritize and discover new perspectives,” said Sofia Semyonova, a first-year Master program student.
Search Inside Yourself: How to Create Your Own Career Plan is held annually in March for three weeks. The work of the GSOM SPbU Coaching Center is aimed at helping students in preparing for employment and building a professional path.
