GSOM Ambassadors is a new project of the GSOM Family community, the goal of which is to unite representatives of the Business School into an international community.

“Many Bachelor and Master programs alumni are working abroad, and when we went online, we realized that they have a need to keep in touch with each other and the alma mater. GSOM SPbU and current students, in turn, need their expertise and experience. This is how the idea of ​​launching the GSOM Ambassadors project appeared — so that active alumni act as guides for the GSOM SPbU brand, unite and attract students who are going for study or internship in another country or region,” said Ksenia Kolesnikova, Head of Alumni Relation Department of GSOM SPbU.

Telegram chats have now been created for alumni living or working in Germany and Asia. They are also attended by students who are nominated for an exchange trip to these regions. Thus, communities of people who are close in values ​​and interests are formed, who are ready to help each other in solving emerging issues.

“At the stage of training, communication with successful alumni is critically important, since their experience can help us, today's students, make the right choice of career paths and avoid many difficulties on the path of professional self-realization. This is especially valuable for students who are planning to move to another country. After all, only from those who have been living in the region for several years, one can learn about local peculiarities, which are difficult to be aware of in advance,” said Elena Sokolova, GSOM student coordinator of the project.

In each region of presence, loyal alumni can become ambassadors of GSOM SPbU. In the created telegram chats, they not only support the communication of participants in chats, online and offline initiatives, but also provide information support to students who have arrived in the region.

The first online meeting of participants in the Germany region will take place very soon — ambassadors are already preparing an event plan in order not only to establish contacts with active chat participants, but also to spend time with benefit.
