Yury Blagov, Director of the PwC Center for CSR of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU), has become a member of the Commission "Business Practices for the SDGs" (SDGs — UN Sustainable Development Goals). The Commission operates within the Council for Sustainable Business Development, Corporate Social Responsibility and Volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
The Council, in accordance with the regulations on its work, was created "in order to expand the opportunities for the participation of Russian companies and small and medium-sized businesses in the implementation of social projects and social initiatives based on the principles of sustainable development, as well as replication of successful corporate volunteering practices among the largest enterprises."
The tasks of the Business Practices for the SDGs commission include:
• sharing best practices in the regions;
• creation of an expert space for the discussion of urgent problems, solutions and presentation of their vision to the Council;
• increasing the effectiveness of dialogue between business representatives and other stakeholders to achieve the SDGs;
• adapting to new international challenges and regulation in the field of sustainable development.
The Chairman of the commission is Irina Arkhipova, Director of External Relations and Communications of Coca-Cola HBC Russia.
