On June 2, at 12:15 (the partners` events) within the PIEF business programs, the Associate Professor of Strategic and International Management Academic Department, the Head of the GEM project in Russia Olga Verkhovskaya will take part in the plenary discussion of the international conference “Woman-Leader” 2021 on the topic of “Post-COVID world and sharing economy”(available in Russian only). Sharing in the 21st century is a new collective philosophy. The idea of personal property is losing its attractiveness, what is the world of sharing which is replacing the old idea? How has the attitude to sharing changed during the pandemic? Digitalization — the instrument for opportunities and threats for sharing? How to manage and control the sharing problems of the government and consumers? Communication sharing. Permanent presence in social media and cooperative information consumption. New collective philosophy, from personal to cooperative. These issues are on the agenda of the event.
On June 3, at 10:00 (the “PIEF Junior” forum) the “Business and University: Which education the economy requires today?” (available in Russian only) discussion participants with the support of GSOM SPbU will try to answer the question — “How to unite goals of universities and companies-employers?” Universities are interested in the training of demanded alumni so that they find a job faster, preferably in their specialty, and quickly grow up the career ladder. Many rankings of higher education take the success of alumni into account. At the same time companies are interested in trained specialists who adapt to a job quickly. Among the speakers there are Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board and GSOM SPbU Director Olga Dergunova, Rector of ITMO University, Vladimir Vasilev, HR Director of MegaFon PJSC, Valentina Vatrak, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, Ruslan Vesterovski, Head of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence Technologies, Rector of the University of National Technology Initiative 2035, Nina Yanykina. Moderator is the BCG Company partner, Anton Stepanenko.
On June 4, at 12:00 (the “PIEF Junior” forum) during the panel discussion “You live: educational trajectories of young professionals and competencies of future” (available in Russian only) young managers will share their experience and tell what they need from the future employees, universities, and educational start-ups. Among the questions: how to organize your educational trajectory in order to optimize the investments in education? Where is the gap between university background and the demand of the labor market manifested? How should universities satisfy the demand for the competencies of the future? Moderator is Advisor to the Director of GSOM SPbU, Alexander Baizarov. The representatives of Zoon, Yandex, “First Freight Company”, SkyEng, WR Group Holding, Raiffeisenbank, ITMO University and information group “W20” are also invited to participate in the discussion.
On June 5, at 12:00 (Youth program) with the support of GSOM SPbU and ANO “Business Russia'' the session “All that needed to know about career development: corporate DNA vs Own project” (available in Russian only) will be organized. Its tasks include the orientation of university alumni at the stage of entering the labor market. After graduation, a student has large ambitions for creating his/her own project or a great career in being hired. But the lack of experience, competence, and relations does not allow to solve the problem of young specialists development quickly and effective (efficient). How to start the career path? How to get the experience and attract employers` attention? How to build effective communication between the representatives of different generations in a company? What are the best HR-brand development practices among students’ audiences? These question will be answered by the Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board and GSOM SPbU Director, Olga Dergunova, Director of the Entrepreneurship Center of the Business School, Karina Bogatyreva, as well as Management Representatives of The Russian Public Affairs Committee (Ru-PAC), Coca-Cola HBC Russia, Tesla, and LeaderCup.
On June 5, at 13:00 (Youth program) Associate Professor at the Department of Strategic and International Management and Academic Advisor of the Master in Management program in GSOM SPbU Yulia Aray will share her experience and knowledge in the Mentor Lounge (available in Russian only). Young entrepreneurs face a large number of problems in the process of building their business: from difficulties with the investments attraction to the illiterate application of marketing and management technologies practices. Many in search of solutions for such problems resort to the help of various educational publications and courses. But in the majority of cases, just new knowledge is not enough, for the effective and efficient application of the practices they need a fresh perspective and experts` advice.
On June 5, at 14:00 (Youth program) the participants of PIEF can join the “New Elite. How acquired knowledge converts to capital” session (available in Russian only). The focus of this track will be the modern understanding of the term “Elitism”; now it is determined by the breadth of knowledge, not by origin or capital, as it was not long ago. It is not for nothing that large companies invest in education. What kind of knowledge determines the status, what personal skills have to do with it, and where should you start? These questions will be discussed by the Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board and GSOM SPbU Director Olga Dergunova; CEO of Coca-Cola HBC Russia Alexander Ruzhevich; CEO of IBM in Russia and CIS Tatiana Sorokina; and the Coursalytics Inc Founder, the Member of Expert Council under the Government of the Russian Federation Alexey Dolinski.
