L'Oréal is a world-renowned French cosmetics and perfumery company. It can rightfully be called a real leader in the beauty industry.
Over the past few years, L'Oréal and GSOM SPbU have been actively cooperating with each other, the company regularly takes part in the Business school's events, and students of Bachelor and Master programs have successfully participated in the case championships and internships of the company. Let's talk a little more about the career opportunities L'Oréal has already provided to students of our business school in recent years.
Internship programs
Every year, as part of summer internship programs, L'Oréal provides GSOM students with the opportunity to gain experience in the field of work in the FMCG market. GSOM students can learn about employment opportunities both at the events of Management Career Week (MCW), the main career event of Business school, and from the Career Center.
In 2020, more than 30 people took part in L'Oréal's summer internship programs, among them: six 2nd year Bachelor students, 12 3rd year Bachelor students and 10 1st year Master students.
Case championships
Case championships from L'Oréal are an initiative that students have long loved, in which they can participate both as part of MCW, and as part of an independent global project from the company (for example, the Brandstorm 21 championship, which was held in spring 2021 among students of all countries of the world, in which teams from GSOM SPbU also took part). Through participation in such events, students try solving business problems from the beauty industry, develop innovative products or business processes, and the finalists of case championships receive fast tracks for internships.
Digital Upskilling Course
In April, GSOM students had the opportunity to take part in a digital course from the L'Oréal group and explore hot topics such as e-commerce, CRM for beginners, and much more. Most importantly, the participants of the course were able to apply the knowledge gained when solving the case at the final stage of training and compete for a fast track for an internship at the company. The organizer of the course, Anna Lemets, noted that it was developed specifically for GSOM students, which once again emphasizes the existence of stable partnerships between the business school and one of the leading companies in the global beauty industry.
Guest lectures
Representatives of L'Oréal JSC regularly conduct guest lectures for GSOM SPbU students. The spring semester of 2021 was no exception: Maria Mamutova, Head of the L'Oreal Learning Development Department, spoke on the topic “Development of talented employees” as part of the “Global talent management” course for 1st year Master students.
It is also worth noting that L'Oréal always supports various CEMS initiatives taken by GSOM SPbU, participates in state examination commissions and provides many consulting projects that are relevant and useful for the development of GSOM students and alumni.
