Summer is not a time to rest: starting from their second year, during this period students have the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills in real companies’. The Career Center of the Graduate School of Management of Saint Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) has started to find places for internships for them in the spring. At the moment, 233 students, 45% of all Business School’s students have found places for internship.

“We are glad that our partner companies and the Advisory Board members actively respond to our requests and provide places for internships for students of the Business School. The internship allows them not only to apply their acquired skills in real work, but also to get acquainted with the corporate culture, structure and work system of the company. In 2021, among the leading companies, hosting our students, will be VTB Bank, the Ministry of Economic Development and Russian Railways", says the Director of the Career Center Nadejda Krylova.

This year, VTB Bank, in collaboration with GSOM SPbU, has created the Innovation Laboratory. Bank employees, including representatives of divisions in Armenia, Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, have presented business ideas that the laboratory teams will work on. In total, 38 cases have been received, of which 5 applications were selected to be used by the. 35 Business School students who will start working on them.

43% of foreign students have also chosen places of practice. Among the companies, there is Lenta, Alfa Bank, Gazpromneft, Heineken Russia, BIOCAD, Adidas, L'Oréal, Geropharm and others.

In particular, Geropharm has accepted students of GSOM SPbU for their office, research center, and for their production facilities in St. Petersburg. The internship will be carried out in the following areas: development, production and quality control of manufactured drugs, HR, PR, GR, marketing, information technology, logistics.

Geropharm is a popular company for internships: in 2021, the competition among students of all universities was about 20 applicants per place. The greatest competition was for internships in IT, logistics and areas related to the development of drugs.

The Career Center of GSOM SPbU is a unit focused on the comprehensive support of Business School students in the labor market.

The most important result of the Career Center is the successful employment of alumni. GSOM SPbU alumni are always welcomed in leading Russian and foreign companies.
