On September 17, 2021, St. Petersburg University leadership met with students living in the new dormitories of the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus. The first five buildings were opened on 15 September.
Elena Chernova, First Vice-Rector of St. Petersburg University, Olga Dergunova, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank, Director of GSOM SPbU, Konstantin Krotov, Executive Director of GSOM SPbU, and Dmitry Mikhailov, Head of the Department for Maintenance and Operation of Dormitories, noted that they are open to student suggestions for campus development and are ready to implement them whenever possible.
In a conversation with freshmen from Sochi, Voronezh, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk Territory, Kemerovo, Samara, Vladivostok and Lipetsk, issues of everyday life, leisure and development of the campus infrastructure were discussed.
During the meeting, they talked about plans to organize an online registration system for laundry facilities, which are provided in all of the dormitory buildings. Due to the remoteness of grocery stores from the campus, special attention will be paid to catering. Options include extending the canteen's operating hours, selling semi-finished products, and installing checkpoints and delivering via aggregator sites.
Another important issue is sports and leisure time activities. The sports facilities on campus will be the next step in the development of the campus. In the meantime, the management of GSOM SPbU is ready to consider the proposals of students and make agreements with the nearby sports and health centers on special conditions for the Business School students and employees.
To develop comfortable living conditions in dormitories, a working group of student representatives from each building has been formed. You can already send your proposals to the SPbU Virtual Reception.
The next meeting with students living in the dormitories of the Mikhailovskaya Dacha campus will take place in early October.
