On September 25, 2021, the traditional family day of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University (GSOM SPbU) — GSOM Family Day — took place. The event brought together 560 alumni, students, teachers and partners of the Business School in an online format while 250 completed the day at an on-campus party.
"GSOM Family Day is a day that everyone is waiting for, a day when we can all be together, whatever your location. It is already a tradition to gather in September every year. The exchange of knowledge, experience, and networking is essential for maintaining warm and friendly ties within our community. The online format has helped to unite community members from different cities and countries. And we are glad that this time we were finally able to see each other in person. After all, we are only able to achieve the most ambitious goals by uniting, developing the Business School and changing the world for the better," said Ksenia Kolesnikova, Head of Alumni Relation Department of GSOM SPbU.
In total, alumni, students and teachers of GSOM SPbU from 27 countries— Australia, USA, Great Britain, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, China, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal, Czech Republic, etc. registered for the event.
"I have always been interested in the contact between students and alumni because as a student I can project their experience on myself and, by looking at their achievements, I can choose my own direction. It's nice to realize that the concept of community is so strongly developed at GSOM St. Petersburg State University, and that the Business School is making so much effort to maintain ties and expand our GSOM Family," said Ilona Dantsevich, head of the Student Organizing Committee of GSOM Family Day, a fourth-year student of the Management program at GSOM SPbU.
The event was held for the sixth time, this being the second time online. Every year the geography of participants has expanded and allows participanyts to keep in touch whatever their location might be.
Many events have been held throughout the year as part of the GSOM Family project: guest lectures by recognized experts, mentoring programs for Talent Up! students, the Territory of Growth project for MBAs and traditional alumni meetings.
nal certification project is required for the completion of the course.
