On October 28, 2021, the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) launched a new season of the TalentUp! mentoring program. For six months, mentors (successful alumni) will work with mentees (students of GSOM SPbU) to achieve personal and professional goals.
“TalentUp! is a unique project of the GSOM Family community. Communication with alumni who have achieved success in various areas of business, developing their own business or working in large Russian and international companies, allows students to form an idea of the labor market, assess their capabilities, and draw up their own career plan. This year, the program was mentored by representatives of McKinsey, BCG, Goldman Sachs, P&G, Yandex, Spotify, Gazprom Neft, Veeam, Mail.ru,” said Ksenia Kolesnikova, Head of Alumni Relation Department at GSOM SPbU.
To participate in the program, GSOM SPbU students undergo a two-stage selection — a questionnaire and an interview. The main criterion is a clearly formulated goal. This year, consulting, startups, project management, product management, marketing and HR have become the priority areas in which students would like to develop.
Elena Topolskaya, mentor, consultant at Boston Consulting Group: “TalentUp! is an opportunity to touch the future, to make it better, not only for ourselves and a particular student, but, possibly, for society as a whole. The strength of the Business School lies in its networking. Thanks to the program, it is especially joyful to be an active part of the real GSOM Family, in which you will always be supported and come to the rescue."
Vasily Taran, mentee: “I highly recommend the program to those who have a specific request: if there is a goal, the mentor will help build a path from point A to point B. In addition, the program will expand the boundaries of your thinking and introduce you to an interesting person”.
In addition to the traditional mentoring program, as part of the TalentUp! there will be a number of open events that everyone can attend: lectures, workshops and Mentor's Days — individual consultations for students with a successful alumni of GSOM SPbU on the topic of building a career path.
