First-year Bachelor students of the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) formulated their goals for the next four years of study at the Business School at the Time Capsule event.
“This year we launched such a project for the first time. Our main goal was to help students approach goal-setting consciously, evaluating the current moment as a starting point and the necessary resources to achieve the desired result. It is important for us that freshmen not only receive new knowledge and skills, but also purposefully move to the planned heights. Therefore, before the event, we spoke at a separate webinar about the importance of goal-setting”
Anastasia Laskovaya, Associate Professor, Academic Director of the Bachelor's Program in Management
“Just before their graduation our students will open their sealed time capsules and recall what dreams and plans they had in the beginning of their journey, as well as feel how much they achieved. The goals set today may build up and grow into professional horizons, or may transform into something new. Both outcomes are natural and great; what is most important is the ability to recognize them which helps in working towards their achievement”
Anastasia Petrova-Savchenko, Associate Professor, Academic Director of the Bachelor's Program in International Management
“Many of the first-year students of Public administration program set themselves ambitious goals related to real change in the world for the better - for example, to improve the quality of life in Russian regions. They talked about this at their first meetings back in September. If in four years they feel the strength and drive to implement these changes, if the program equips them with everything necessary for this, for the School and the program this will be the most significant indicator of success"
Anastasia Golubeva, Associate Professor, Academic Director of Bachelor's Program in Public administration
The event was supported by Maria Dorokhina, Coaching Center Director, and Anton Luzhkovsky, Business Coach, GSOM SPbU alumnus, held a workshop on goal setting in a rapidly changing world. The students learned about popular goal-setting techniques and dispelled myths about goals.
