Professor of the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU) Andrei Panibratov took part in a round table on the topic "How do international companies adapt to new challenges?", organized by Tomsk State University.
The speaker emphasized that Russian companies subject to sanctions face significant restrictions in access to suppliers, financial resources, customers and technologies. Entering international markets increases their chances of finding replacements for resources and partnerships that are no longer available, thereby increasing their resilience to the adverse economic situation in the country.
"Exporting firms are characterized by relatively high productivity and capital intensity, which makes it easier for them to cope with economic downturns than companies that do not operate abroad. Moreover, companies that are active internationally have easier access to knowledge and information from foreign markets, which, in turn, can lead to maintaining (and in some cases expanding) innovation activity, reducing production costs and improving product quality."

The event, organized by the Institute of Economics and Management of Tomsk State University as part of the International Winter School program "Your Global Opportunities: International Perspectives", was attended by professors and representatives of the business community from France, China, St. Petersburg and Tomsk.
